What is favicon icon?

Favicon icon is a mini icon, appears on the browser window, one on the tab of the browser window and one before the address-bar of the browser. Some people also say these icons a browser icon.


Normally the size of the icon is 16px by 16px. The file format of this icon is ".ico". These icons are created using image editor software such as Photoshop, Zimp, Microsoft Paint, etc.
